Remembering Bernie LeRoux

BIO, Bernie C Leroux
My name is Bernie C Leroux born in the little town of St Judes, NL. Currently I am retired from the oil industry where I spent 45 years as a boilermaker. During this time I spent many years in the supervision side of the industry. I really enjoy the interaction between people.

It was around the 7th grade I found a love for writing when I entered a writing contest province wide. It was a story of smokey the bear and how we should protect the forest and our environment. For this accomplishment I received a cheque for 25 dollars….some 30 years ago I turn my writing to music a passion Ive had since a child. I came from a family of 9 and we all love to sing including mom and dad.
I am currently working on my fourth cd of my music……I just finished a year long project of collaboration with a cousin Margaret jessica Crandford on a song ….Nijan …My Child.

My first influences as far back as I can remember is my Mi’kmaw father who loved music sang and encouraged me to play guitar and sing. In my later years I listened to different artists from John Prine to Carlo Santana to BB King..Locally here in Newfoundland I was a big fan of Roy Payne….on the Indigenous side people like Buffy Sainte Marie and Susan Aglukark.
