Zach Snow is an up and coming music industry professional specializing in the media professional.
He is the host of the Celtic Wake Up, a two hour Irish and Newfoundland folk music featuring special guests, primarily musicians to promote upcoming events, new projects, and interesting stories. The ranges of guests who have been on the programs ranges from Shanneyganock, The Ennis Sisters, Rum Ragged, Rosemary Lawton, Andy Irvine, and many more musicians and industry professional.
He is the producer of the Tri Colour Sessions, a music video series highlighting local talent. It has featured the likes of Justin Fancy, The Swinging Belles, and Clare Follett. The Celtic Wake Up was recognized by the National Campus and Community Radio Association in 2019 with an NCRA Music Programming award for Best Country or Folk Show. Zach was also acknowledged by MusicNL as a nominee for Media Person of the Year for the 2020 awards.
Early on in his career, he provided coverage of the music scene in the province through print, as he worked for Memorial University’s student newspaper, The Muse. He has reviewed local albums from Alan Doyle and Kat McLevey and has interviewed acts like Fairgale, Chris LeDrew, and more.
Zach’s love for music of Newfoundland and Labrador continues as he has contributed as a on-site volunteer for the NL Folk Festival. He is also serving as a member of the Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Arts Society Board of Directors.
